Delineation investigation, Remedial Action Plan (RAP), technical documents (for Environmental Impact Statement), technical supervisor and compliance, stakeholder engagement, Camellia NSW
Adam was the Project Manager (for a former employee) for the proposed site redevelopment entailing rehabilitation of the 6 Hectare site for future use as mixed retail and high-rise residential. Adam led a team of scientists to conduct the contamination assessment of the site as part of the regulatory approval process. The site contains significant quantities of asbestos waste, ash materials and tar wastes. The site is to be remediated by internment of asbestos wastes within an onsite containment cell, and bioremediation of fuel-impacted soils. Adam managed the technical team to prepare planning documents to be submitted for the EIS including the soil & water management plan, water treatment plant concept design, waste management plan, and the bioremediation treatment trial work plan.
The client retained the services of Sullivan Environmental Sciences to perform the technical supervisory and compliance role for contamination issues. Since the end of 2014, Sullivan Environmental Sciences has performed a number of tasks to progress the approval process to gain remediation consent, such as:
- Addendum to the Main site RAP.
- Detailed investigation of foreshore sediments and preparation of the Foreshore RAP.
- Supervisor of subcontractor geotechnical investigations.
- Facilitator of stakeholder meetings, coordinator and respondent of Site Auditor/EPA matters.
- Application for Environment Protection Licence (EPL) and preparation of supporting documents.
- Application for land owners consent (RMS) to remediate the foreshore.
- Preparation of remedial investigation documents.
